SISTERS OF THE ASSUMPTION OF TREBISONDA. - Congregation, founded in 1887, of Armenian sisters who devoted themselves to the education of youth and to works of assistance. The congregation remained diocesan and in 1914 counted 22 religious, 4 novices and postulants. Exiled during the war of 1914-18, they were all massacred or scattered. The only survivor entered another congregation in 1928.
