CHAPPUIS, JEAN. - French canonist, who lived between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th. Little is known about him; he graduated in law at the University of Paris. He edited two reprints of the Corpus iuris canonici; but his fame is linked to the compilation of the two collections of decretals Extra-vagantes Ioannis XXII and Extravagantes communes; V. CORPUS IURIS CANONICI.
