EMBROGIO da MILANO. – Capuchin theologian, b. in Milan in 1535, d. on 14 May 1615. Until the age of fifteen he was educated by the Augustinians, then he entered the Capuchin order. He was a renowned lecturer in theology at the studia generalia of the Marches, Bologna, and Tuscany, and twice provincial of Lombardy. A man of great piety and austerity, he was held in high esteem by Cardinal Federico Borromeo. We have from him, in manuscript: Il Mistero dell'Ecce Homo, and in print: I Commentari eruditi ed utili sopra l'orazione domenicale; he composed other short works, now impossible to find.
