PREBENDA

PREBEND. - From Lat. praebere (to furnish) it is the revenue of an ecclesiastical benefice. The term belongs to ecclesiastical literature and indicates the right that a cleric has to receive the fruits deriving from the endowment attached to the office of which he is the titular.
