Morals on the Book of Job

Pope St Gregory I the Great († 604) · Moralia in Iob (Expositio in librum Iob) · 578-595

Anonymous English translation, Morals on the Book of Job (A Library of Fathers of the Holy Catholic Church, vols. 18, 21, 23, 31), Oxford: John Henry Parker, 1844-1850.

Refs: 'pref' = Gregory's letter to Leander; 'b.0' = the argument printed under each book heading (0 = Gregory's Preface); 'b.k' = section k of book b, in the Benedictine numbering the translation follows (Migne prints the same numbers). A citation 'Moral. XXXI, 45, 87' is book 31, section 87. Where the OCR lost a section number, that section's text is at the end of the preceding section (207 of 2430 sections). Marginal Scripture references, footnotes and the translators’ notes are omitted. English only: the Latin (PL 75-76) is on the site as Migne columns.
