ALDOVRANDINI, GIUSEPPE. — Musician, born in Bologna around 1673, died there on 8 February 1707. Appointed prince of the Accademia Filarmonica, he also served the Duke of Mantua. He composed many theatrical works, various sacred music, and six oratorios that brought him widespread renown. Most of his compositions are preserved in manuscript form in the musical archive of Bologna, with only a few printed in contemporary collections.
