ALDOVRANDINI, GIUSEPPE. – Musician, born in Bologna around 1673, died there on 8 February 1707. Appointed prince of the Accademia filarmonica, he also served the duke of Mantua. He wrote many theatrical works, various other compositions, and six oratorios that brought him widespread renown. Most of his compositions are in manuscript in the musical archive of Bologna; a small number were printed in collections of the period.
