ANSELMO, ARCIVESCOVO DI MILANO

ANSELM, archbishop of Milan. - A. II, on the episcopal see from March 6, 883 to September 27, 896, is the titular of the famous medieval collection of canon law texts, known as the *Collectio Anselmo dedicata*.

It is probable that the collection was compiled in Milan while A. was archbishop; this is confirmed by internal evidence.

The collection, largely unpublished, consists of 1,580 canons, grouped into 12 books; the texts, with few exceptions, are drawn from earlier collections.
