THE CARROCCIO. — Monthly review for the formation and action of young people; it was founded in Milan in October 1922 by the then-nascent Compagnia di S. Paolo, which Cardinal Ferrari, the diocesan archbishop, wished to bless on his deathbed. It gathered the best literary talents such as Papini, Giuliotti, Angelini, and Felici, and enjoyed wide circulation owing to the avant-garde and bold spirit of the movement it represented. It later underwent changes not always fortunate until it was suspended in 1943. At present (1949) the Compagnia di S. Paolo intends to resume publication.
