IDROPARASTATI. — From the Greek ὅθωρ = water, and παραστατέω (cf. παρλατημα) = I stand beside, and hence: I defend; this is the name found in Theodoret (Haer. fab., 1, 20) and in the Codex Theodosianus (XVI, 5) Aquarians (v.).
