O GLORIOSA VIRGINUM

«O GLORIOSA VIRGINUM». – Hymn of Lauds in the Office of the Common of the Feasts of the Blessed Virgin, composed by Venantius Fortunatus.

Filled with admiration for the Virgin, the poet extols her who gave human flesh to her Creator and now shares with Him the glory of heaven. For as through Eve death came into the world, through Mary life has been given, which all the faithful praise. May the Virgin now open to pilgrims of the world, weeping in this vale of tears, the gates of heaven.
