PNEUMATOLOGIA. – From πνεῦμα (spirit) and λόγος (word-concept), it means the science of the spirit. An expression now little or not at all used. Some authors call p. that part of philosophy which studies spiritual realities (the human soul and God). Thus C. Wolff (Philosophia rationalis, § 79; Wolff, however, uses the term pneumatica) and J.G.H. Feder (Logik und Metaphysik, Leipzig 1769, p. 315).
