PNEUMATOLOGY. - From τνεῦμα (spirit) and λόγος (word-concept), it signifies the science of the spirit. An expression now little or no longer used. Some authors call pneumatology that part of philosophy which studies spiritual realities (the human soul and God). Thus C. Wolff (Philosophia rationalis, § 79; though Wolff uses the term "pneumatisch") and J.G.H. Feder (Logik und Metaphysik, Leipzig 1769, p. 315).
