POOR TEACHING SISTERS OF OUR LADY. - In 1860 the bishop of Colocza, Giuseppe Kunszt, called into his diocese some of the P. S. of the Schools of Our Lady of Budweis. The new Institution soon had a flourishing life, bearing great fruit especially in the education of young girls.

The prolonging of the stay of the mother superior of Budweis at Colocza, and other local causes of antagonism, brought it about that the branch of Budweis, after a year, elected a new superior, separating itself from Colocza. With the separation a new congregation was born, which very soon spread and on 12 Jan. 1903 obtained pontifical approval. At present there are 934 sisters, distributed in 67 houses.
