Letter CDXXXVII. To the same, for the same purpose.
You heap favours upon me and increase my glory, when my friends for my sake find favour in your eyes; and the greater their number, the more must I think of your affection for me. Yet I seek not glory from man; but desire the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and I think this is the case with the Bishop of Troyes also. With confidence therefore do I desire to recommend him to you under either character, that of a good man and of my friend. I would recommend to your Charity not him only, but also the bearer of this letter, who is sent by him: a young man of good disposition and dear to me.
