Chapter 21. Of sinnes that crie vnto Heauen

Scholar. How manie are they, & what bee the sinnes, which crie vnto Heauen?

Master. They are four, to wit, wilful murder: carnall sinnes against nature: oppression of the poore, and chiefly of orphans, and widowes: and to defraud workmen of their wages.

Scholar. Wherefore is it said, that they crie to Heauen?

Master. Because the iniustice of these sinnes is so maniefest, that it can not be couered or hidden by anie means.
