Bull erecting the Episcopal See of Bugella and separating it from the Diocese of Vercelli

Bull of Pope Clement XIV ·

tion.
CLXXXIV.
Erection of the episcopal see of Bugella with separation from the diocese of Vercelli. Clement, Bishop, Servant of the Servants of God. To the perpetual memory of the matter.

1 1. The principal care of the pastoral office committed to Us, requiring Our diligent solicitude, is indeed that by which, following in the footsteps of the apostles and Our predecessors, we strive to provide for the Christian flock according to necessity and opportunity. We greatly desire therefore to increase the ranks of vigilant pastors, as it were constituted by degrees in various most ample parts of the world, so that they may adhere more closely to the flock entrusted to them and may themselves present an example of good works and diligently assist in the eternal salvation of souls, which they are able readily to provide for, and to which We impart to each the powers which are recognized as opportune for usefully fulfilling the apostolic duty committed to them, and for exciting and cultivating a better harvest in the field of the Lord.

CLXXXIV.
