Right: THE HOLY FACE (Τὸ ἄγιον Μανώλλον), preserved in the church of S. Giorgio degli Armeni, brought from Constantinople to Genoa in the 14th cent. The 10 small panels, applied on the gold covering of finest filigree, contain scenes of the legend of the Mandylion - Genoa.
