AGLI-BOL. — A deity worshipped at Palmyra, where archaeology attests the existence of a college of priests, altars, and sacrifices dedicated to him. He is a lunar deity, associated both with the supreme god Bel and with his father Yarihi-Bol, the sun god. He is depicted as a young warrior with the lunar crescent on his shoulders; he was probably the original Ba'al of Palmyra, and his name appears in Palmyrene theophoric onomastics.
