AGLI-BOL. – A deity worshipped at Palmyra, where archaeology attests the existence of a college of priests, altars, and sacrifices dedicated to II. It is a lunar deity, associated both with the supreme god Bel and with his paredros Yarhi-Bol, god of the sun. He is depicted as a young warrior with the lunar crescent on his shoulders; he was probably the original Ba'al of Palmyra, and his name appears in Palmyrene theophoric onomastics.
