BREVILINEO. – Adjective used in the language of the Italian constitutionalist school led by A. De Giovanni, G. Viola, and N. Pende to designate the human morphological type in which the bodily development in width predominates, proportionally, over development in length: it is the opposite of longilineo (q.v.). N. Pende distinguished a sthenic brevilineo type and an asthenic brevilineo type; the former is strong in skeletal, muscular, and sanguine development; the latter has a slender and fragile skeleton, hypotonic and weak muscles, abundant lymph and relatively little blood. The two brevilineo types are predisposed to functional abnormalities and various diseases (q.V. INDIVIDUO).

BREZINA, Otokar. – Pseudonym of Václav Jebarý. Czech poet, born near Tábor in 1868, died at Jaroměřice in 1929.
