URBANO CERRI. — A Roman, appointed secretary of the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith by Clement X in 1675, died in 1679, leaving an unpublished report on the state of the Catholic religion throughout the world in 1677, which was first published in English in London in 1715 by Sir Richard Steele. The edition states that the report was written "for the use of Pope Innocent XI" and also includes a dedicatory letter from Steele to Pope Clement XI regarding the state of religion in Great Britain and other details about the conditions of those times.
