Chartier, Jean

CHARTIER, JEAN. - Monk at St-Denis and last chronicler of the monastery, d. after 1470. He wrote at the commission of Charles VII the history of his reign, which remains a notable source for the knowledge of those times. It was published by Vallet de Viriville (3 vols., Paris 1858 SGR.).
