CHARTIER, JEAN. – Monk at St-Denis and the monastery’s last chronicler, he died after 1470. At the commission of Carlo VII, he wrote the history of his reign, which remains an important source for knowledge of that period. It was published by Vallet de Viriville (3 vols., Paris 1858 SGR.).
