Cleomenes

CLEOMENE. — Heretic; he taught the Patripassian doctrine (the Father is identical with the Son, having suffered in Christ) in Rome at the beginning of the third century, during the pontificate of Pope Zephyrinus, by whom he appears to have been tolerated in the Church. St Hippolytus says that C. had learned these doctrines from Epigonus, a disciple of Noetus, who had introduced them into Rome.
