EDOARDO V, king of ENGLAND. — Born at Westminster on 3 November 1470, died in London in June 1483. At the age of thirteen, he inherited the throne of his father Edoardo IV on 9 April 1483. But his paternal uncle Riccardo, duke of Gloucester, after eliminating the lords Rivers and Grey, relatives of E. on his mother’s side, assumed the title of protector or guardian of his nephew, and confined the young king together with his brother Riccardo, duke of York, in the Tower of London, where he had them both massacred.
