Eumenides

EUMENIDI

EUMENIDES. - Minor Greek divinities identified with the Erinyes (v.), although some of the ancients considered them different. They are benevolent, they favor fertility and fecundity. They received in sacrifice a pregnant sheep and offerings of honey and flowers.They were worshipped at Athens below the Areopagus, at Sicyon, at Argos, at Colonus, at Megalopolis, and at Cyrene, where they are represented holding flowers and snakes and are invoked for offspring.
