FRIDOLIN, STEPHAN

STEPHAN FRIDOLIN. - Franciscan theologian (at least from 1479), born in Winnenden (Württemberg) in 1430, reader and preacher among the Poor Clares in Nuremberg, where he died on 17 August 1498. He composed sermons on the hymns and psalms of the Little Canonical Hours, especially Compline. He was pious and learned, particularly in languages and history.
