FRIDOLIN, STEPHAN. — Franciscan theologian (at least from 1479), born in Winnendem (Württemberg) in 1430, lecturer and preacher among the Poor Clares at Nuremberg, where he died on 17 August 1498. He composed sermons on the hymns and psalms of the canonical minor Hours ■ of Compline. He was pious and learned, especially in languages ■ and history.
