ROBERT MANNYNG of BRUNNE. - English monk, b. 1288, d. 1338.
He is known for an octosyllabic version of William of Wadington’s Manuel des pechiers. The version is entitled Handlyng synne and is an important historical document, inasmuch as it sheds light on the tyranny and rapacity of nobles and knights of the period.
