MANNYNG, ROBERT DI BRUNNE

MANNYNG, ROBERT OF BRUNNE. - English monk, b. in 1288, d. in 1338.

He is known for a version in octosyllables of the Manuel des pechiez by William of Wadington. The version is entitled Handlyng synne and is an important historical document, in that it sheds light on the tyranny and rapacity of the nobles and knights of the time.
