MANNYNG, ROBERT di BRUNNE. – English monk, b. in 1288, d. in 1338.
He is known for a version in octosyllabic verse of William of Wadington’s Manuel des pechiez. The version is entitled Handlyng synne and is an important historical document, since it sheds light on the tyranny and rapacity of the nobles and knights of the period.
