OSANNA DA CATTARO, Blessed. - B. at Releza, near Cettigne, on 25 Nov. 1493 to Orthodox parents, d. at Cattaro on 27 Apr. 1565; at the age of 14 she went into service with a Catholic family of Cattaro, where, instructed in Catholicism, she devoted herself to a life of penance, as a recluse in the monastery of St. Paul.

There she received the religious habit of the Dominican Tertiaries and took the name O. She gathered around herself numerous virgins, who, following her example, led a religious life as Dominican tertiaries. Her cult was approved by Pius XI on 21 Dec. 1927 (AAS, 20 [1928], pp. 29-42).
