QUINQUATRUS. — Festival of 19 March in the oldest Roman calendar. According to calendrical evidence, it was a festival of Mars during which the Salii performed their ritual dances in the Comitium. On the other hand, it was the day of the dedication of the Aventine temple of Minerva and a festival of the craft guilds.
Q. Minusculae was the name given to the festival of 13 June, celebrated especially by the college of the tibicines (flute players), for whom a banquet was offered on that day in the Capitoline temple.
