Regent

REGENT. — In the Roman Curia, this is the title of the superior prelate of the Apostolic Penitentiary (v. Penitenzieria apostolica), of the Apostolic Chancery (v.), and, until recently, Apostolic Dataria (v.), where the superior prelate now bears the title of sub-datary, while the office of r. is vacant.
