molestation: for the facts, as I have written them to you, are true and without question.
To Peter Abbot of Celles.
Bernard transfers an oven to the monks of Celles.
To the venerable Peter, by the grace of God, Abbot of Celles, Brother Bernard, called Abbot of Clairvaux, health and his earnest prayers.
I grant and confirm to your house an oven placed near Troyes, which was the property of our house at Mores. For since our brethren there are not able to profit by the proceeds of the same, they therefore, who built the same oven, having received repayment of forty-four livres which they had expended in the erection of it, do by my hand trans fer it to you and to your house, to be freely held. Which we sanction and confirm by the impression of my seal. The following brethren of your house are witnesses: Peter the Prior.
Joscelin the Subprior.
Stephen the Provost.
and also Walcher, Rainauld, our Cellarers, and Fromund, who erected the building in question.
Given in the year 1152 of the Incarnation of Our Lord.
