ECCLESIASTICAL SEALS OF THE 13TH-16TH CENTURIES: 1. of Stefano G. Merino, archbishop of Bari; 2. of Ludovico Beccatelli, apostolic legate (1552); 3. of the bishop of Comacchio; 4. of Alessandro de' Medici, card. and legate; 5. "Ave Maria,, etc. (it is one of the very rare seals with the scene of monastic profession); 6. of Raffaelle card. and archbishop of Pisa; 7. of a bishop "elect": Teodorico, prior of S. Andrea di Orvieto and chaplain of the Pope, "elect of Palermo" (the figure of the titular does not yet bear the episcopal attributes); 8. of card. Marcello Cervini (1545), later pope Marcello II; 9. of fra' Giacomo, pontifical penitentiary (the titular has the "virga correctionis", sign of the office) - Palazzo Venezia, Corvisieri collection.
