ADAMO WODEHAM (GODHAM, GODDAM)

ADAM WODEHAM (GODHAM, GODDHAM). - English Franciscan, ardent supporter of the "via moderna" or nominalism. He taught at Norwich, London and Oxford, and in the controversy over the freedom of the will he came close to the position of Buridan (v.). He died in 1358.

He composed Questiones philosophicae et theologicae, still in manuscript; but his major work is the Commentary on the Sentences, printed from 1512 onward, in the form of a compendium made by the nominalist Henry Totting of Oyta.
