FRANCESCO ADRIANI. — Franciscan friar, who lived in the 14th century. He completed his higher studies in Paris, graduating from the Sorbonne. He distinguished himself in preaching and in the study of Greek and Latin. He was one of the nine founders of the celebrated “Bolognese Theological College,” established in 1363. On the founding tablets of the same, these words were written in his praise: “viri angelicae vitae.” Sbarglia believes that he wrote numerous works. To date, however, only one short treatise is known: *Tractatus in symbolum s. Athanasii*, which remains unpublished.
