ADRIANI, FRANCESCO. – Friar Minor, who lived in the 14th century. He completed his higher studies in Paris, graduating from the Sorbonne. He distinguished himself in preaching and in the study of the Greek and Latin languages. He was one of the nine founders of the celebrated “Bolognese Theological College,” established in 1563. On the foundation plaques of the same institution, these words were written in his praise: «viri angelicae vitae». Sbaraglia maintains that he wrote numerous works. Thus far, however, only one short treatise is known: Tractatus in symbolum s. Athanasii, which remained unpublished.
