Agnes of Bilzheim

AGNESE di BILZHEIM. - German Dominican mystic, who died at the end of the thirteenth century. She lived as a lay sister in the Dominican monastery of Colmar, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, known by the appellation Sub Tilia (v. UNTERLINDEN).

In the chronicle of the monastery written by Sister Caterina di Geberschweier (c. 1300), chapter 44 is devoted to A. Pez calls her of Blozheim, Ancelet-Hustache of Bilzheim, near Ruffach. Many charisms of consolation and prophecy marked her obedience, self-denial, and care for the sick sisters. She daily contemplated the mysteries of the Redemption. Once she was granted to follow the episodes

of the Passion, from Gethsemane to the Cross, and through grief, on 14 December of an unknown year, she expired.
