ALBERTO DI BARDOWIK

ALBERTO of BARDOWIK. – Chancellor of the city of Lübeck, who lived around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries.

We possess from him a Chronicle of Lübeck, written in 1298 in the local dialect (Low German), and a Relatio historica de rebus quibusdam sub tempore 1298-1301 gestis. In 1299, he also compiled the first maritime law of Lübeck. He was a priest; the year of his death is unknown.
