ALESSANDRINA da LETTO, Blessed. – Born in Letto (Sulmona) in 1385, died in Foligno in 1458. She took the habit of the Poor Clares in 1400. She was in L’Aquila, and, with other sisters, left for Foligno by divine inspiration, where she founded the monastery of St. Lucy with the original Rule of St. Clare. She began to write the history of the monastery itself, of which she was abbess in 1425, 1429, and 1434. She died in a reputation for holiness, and was soon enrolled among the blessed. Her feast is celebrated on April 2.
