ALESSANDRINA da LETTO, blessed. — Born at Letto (Sulmona) in 1385, died at Foligno in 1458. She took the habit of the Poor Clares in 1400. She was in Aquila and, with other nuns, departed by divine inspiration for Foligno, where she founded the monastery of S. Lucia according to the primitive rule of s. Chiara. She began to write the history of that monastery, of which she was abbess in 1425, 1429, and 1434. She died with a reputation for sanctity and was soon enrolled among the blessed. Her feast is celebrated on 2 April.
