Also known as: Spanish: Alfonso IV el Monje; Latin: Alfonsus IV

ALFONSO IV, king of ASTURIAS and LEÓN, called the MONK - Son of Ordoño II, he reigned from 925 to 932. Favored at first by fortune with the victory over the terrible caliph Abd al-Rahman, after the loss of Burgos and other lands he had, together with the king of Navarre, to bow his head before the fierce Arab and withdrew to a monastery.
