ATANASIO, VESCOVO AFRICANO

ATANASIUS, African bishop. — Sozomen (Hist. eccl., IV, 15) mentions him in connection with the Fourth Council of Sirmium (358). He was at the court of Emperor Constantius along with three other African bishops when this council was convened. He took part in it and subscribed to its formula. Nothing further is known about him.
