CHAPPUIS, JEAN. — French canonist who lived between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th. Little is known about him; he obtained a licentiate in law at the University of Paris. He supervised two reprints of the Corpus iuris canonici; but his fame is linked to the compilation of the two collections of decretals, Extravagantes Ioannis XXII and Extravagantes communes; V. CORPUS IURIS CANONICI.
