CLEMENTE da TERZORIO. - Capuchin historian of the Province of Genoa, b. 7 Sept. 1865, d. 13 Dec. 1946.
Missionary in Montevideo (1891–93), general secretary of the Missions, definitor general (1914–32), he wrote, from archival material, a monumental history: Le missioni dei Minori Cappuccini (10 vols., Rome 1913–38; Europa [I–II], Asia Minor [III–VII], East Indies [VIII–IX], Africa [X]), completing and continuing the history (2 vols., Paris–Rome 1867–72) of his confrere Rocco da Cesinale (v.). Failing health prevented him from preparing the two volumes on the missions of America and Oceania. He also published a useful Manuale historicum missionum Ord. Min. Cappuccinorum (Isola del Liri 1926).
