COMMONWEALTH. - A weekly magazine started on November 12, 1924, in New York by Michael Williams, a brilliant writer and essayist, born in Halifax (Canada) in 1877.
It deals with ample information and agility with the questions in which Catholic thought and life are interested; moreover, it often welcomes literary compositions and poems. Among its editors and co-editors should be remembered Henry Longan Stuart (d. 1928), a sharp and brilliant critic, of Scottish origin, expert in many languages and translator of Claudel's Letters to a Doubter, and the poet Thomas Walsh (d. 1928).
