**DENYSE (DENISE, de NYSE, Dionysii), NICOLA.** – Theologian, born in Beuzeville in Normandy around the middle of the 15th century, died in Rouen on 18 May 1509. Already a canon and vicar in the diocese of Coutances, he joined the Observant Friars Minor after 1470 at the convent of Valognes, distinguishing himself through his learning and virtue.
Among his works are: the Opus in quattuor libros Sentent. o Resolutio theologorum (ed. Rouen, late 15th–early 16th century, 1504–1506; Paris 1573, etc.) and the Summa o Gemmae praedicantium, as well as various collections of Sermones. D. died in a reputation for holiness, and the title of blessed was popularly attributed to him.
