DIONIGI. – Greek monk (1318–90), who in 1374 rebuilt a monastery on Mount Athos, which after his name came to be called “Dionysios.” For it he obtained in 1375, from Emperor Alessio, a golden bull confirming grants and privileges. This convent is, in chronological order, the 19th; in hierarchical order, the 5th. The dissident Church celebrates his feast on 25 June.
