EBEDIESU ('ABDÍŠO')

EBEDIESU ('ABDÍŠO'). — Chaldean patriarch, elected in 1555 as successor to Sulàgà, d. in 1567. A monk of the monastery of SS. Acha and Giovanni. He received the pallium in Rome from Pius IV (1562). He was present at the final session of the Council of Trent (1563). His works: three poems on Sulàgà and one on Pius IV (v. CALDEI).
