EBEDIESU (‘ABDĪŠO’). – Chaldean patriarch, elected in 1555 as the successor of Sulāqā, died in 1567. Monk of the monastery of SS. Acha and Giovanni. He received the pallium in Rome from Pius IV (1562). He was present at the final session of the Council of Trent (1563). His works: three poems on Sulāqā and one on Pius IV (v. CALDEI).
