EUTHYMIUS THE YOUNGER, saint. — Monk of Mount Athos, born c. 828, died in 898. He founded the celebrated Peristerse monastery and numbered among his disciples St. Giovanni Kolobos and Basilio, metropolitan of Thessalonica. The latter wrote his life (ed. L. Petit, in Rev. Or. chrét., 7 [1903], p. 155 ff.).
