FILIPPO, bishop of BRACLEA, saint. – Martyr, died under Diocletian in 304. His truthful Latin Passion, which goes back to a Greek original, recounts in interesting detail the torments suffered by F., who, together with his deacon Hermes, was burned at Adrianople. His feast is on 22 October. A special cult of him is attested in the church of Fermo.
