FIORENZO, Saint. — Bishop of Strasbourg, lived in the 6th century and died c. 600. The legendary element abounds in the *Vitae*, all of which are late (from the 12th century onward). His Irish origin is today rejected by scholars. He founded the monasteries of Haslach (Alsace) and St. Thomas in Strasbourg, the latter later becoming a collegiate church. He succeeded St. Arbogasto in the see of Strasbourg (c. 560–600). Buried at St. Thomas, his relics were translated to Haslach in 810. Popular cult in Alsace, extended as far as
