FRANCISCAN SISTERS KNOWN AS THE LITTLE SISTERS OF THE ORPHANS. — They were founded in 1867 at Bourg-en-Bresse (France) by the priest GIOVANNI MARIA GRIFFON for the instruction of orphans and poor children. Approved by the Holy See in 1938, they have 15 houses with 309 sisters.
