FRANCISCAN SISTERS OF OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP. – They were founded among the Polish women of the United States in 1901 by Archbishop John J. Kain in St. Louis, Missouri, to teach children of Polish language; they also perform domestic work in seminaries, colleges, etc., in various dioceses of the United States. Aggregated to the Franciscan Order in 1907, the sisters known as Polish school sisters number 258 in 28 houses.
