GIOVANNI V bar ARGARÉ. — Nestorian Catholicos (900–905), the first who, after his election, bound himself in writing to perform his duties properly and ordered all his successors to do the same.
The Canons for the Service of the Altar and the Responses to Ecclesiastical Questions are preserved from him, works containing a liturgical casuistry.
