HISTORISCHES JAHRBUCH. - A periodical of historical culture, published in Münster by the historical section of the Görresgesellschaft since 1880, under the direction of Dr. G. Hüffer.
Its program is to welcome treatments of a strictly scientific character concerning the ecclesiastical and secular history of the times after the advent of Christianity, while admitting, by way of exception, subjects on earlier times. It intends to gather around itself those historians, Catholic and also non-Catholic, who consider Jesus Christ as the center of history and the Catholic Church as the institution willed by God for the education and formation of humanity. The H. J. is a quarterly and each issue contains various parts: articles, reviews and communications, news and obituaries. Suspended in 1942, on account of the international situation, it resumed in 1949 with vols. 62-69, which cover the period 1942-49.
