HISTORISCHES JAHRBUCH. - A periodical of historical culture, published in Münster by the historical section of the Görresgesellschaft since 1880, under the editorship of Dr. G. Hüffer.
Its programme is to admit studies of a strictly scientific character concerning ecclesiastical and secular history in the periods following the advent of Christianity, while exceptionally allowing subjects dealing with earlier times. It aims to gather around itself those historians, Catholic and non-Catholic alike, who regard Jesus Christ as the centre of history and the Catholic Church as the institution willed by God for the education and formation of humanity. The H. J. is published every four months, and each issue contains various sections: articles, reviews and communications, notices and obituaries. Suspended in 1942 because of the international situation, it resumed publication in 1949 with vols. 62-69, covering the period 1942-49.
